The WoW Chains of Dominion does not have a fixed release date

Even if Patch 9.1 Chains of Dominion does not have a fixed release date yet, many players are already looking forward to the new raid. And even those who are not actively playing World of Warcraft Shadowlands may have an interest in the great “World First” race, in which the best guilds in the world try to be the first to fight Sylvanas Windrunner in the Sanctum of Dominion.

This time the race could be a little more exciting because there is less equipment to buy in advance.

What has been the problem so far? In order to have the best possible starting positions, the professional guilds use all sorts of tricks so that their characters are optimally prepared. In this case, the best possible equipment often comes from the raids that are currently being tackled. In addition to the loot from bosses, there are also so-called "BoE" items in every raids, which are only bound when you put them on, but are as strong as loot from the bosses in terms of item level.

These BoE items drop from trash mobs in the respective raid. This ensures that mythical raids are lucrative sources of income. Players enter the raid, kill all trash mobs and repeat this over and over again in order to get the coveted items, which are then sold for a lot of gold - often several million.

A long rat tail is often attached to supporting guilds or second characters who are only used to farm the corresponding BoE items.

Especially in the first days of the Mythic Progress, these items can tip the scales.

What's different this time? There are significantly fewer BoE items in the Sanctum of Dominion. Only 2 per armor class instead of 3-4 in Castle Nathria. There were 2 items for each armor class plus rings and necklaces. With gold it is only possible in Patch 9.1 to fill 2 of the 15 (or 16) slots with BoE items. The rest of the equipment must therefore come from other sources or be earned in the raid.

How does that work? This mainly has an impact on the spending of the big professional guilds. With fewer BoE items, less gold has to be spent to get the coveted items. At the same time, this also creates more equal opportunities. Because big guilds like Limit, Echo or Method can often borrow millions of gold from other players, which they only pay back in the weeks and months after the "World First" race.

This is an advantage that many of the somewhat smaller guilds find it difficult to make up for if they do not want to fall back on illegal offers.

So gold becomes a slightly smaller factor in the world first race. That makes for a little more fairness, even though there are inherently inequalities at this event - such as the different launch dates of the raids, depending on the region.

When does the World First race start? There is no specific date yet. But even after the release of Patch 9.1 Chains of Dominion, it will still take a few weeks, as raids usually open with a delay. By the time we can actually cheer for the professional players again, it will probably be midsummer.

By the way,the World of Warcraft Burning Crusade Classic was released half a month ago.
